What to Expect on Your Luxor Day Trip

You are picked up at your Cairo hotel before dawn for the early flight to Luxor, about one hour. Your guide meets you at Luxor airport and takes you first to the West Bank. In the Valley of the Kings you enter three royal tombs with brightly painted walls. Next is the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut, built for one of Egypt's few female pharaohs, followed by a photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon. After a light lunch you cross to the East Bank to explore Karnak, with its Great Hypostyle Hall of 134 columns. In the evening you fly back to Cairo and are driven to your hotel.
